DESCRIPTION:TicketsThe People’s Comedy formed in 2018 with the aim of platforming grass-roots comedians with a message (think non-commercial\, counter-culture\, alternative\, original) and ensuring that they’re paid for their craft. \nWinner – Best Themed Comedy Night in the UK outside of London (Chortle\, 2023) \n*This night will bring together some of the UK’s best and most original jesters for this coronation weekend for King Charles III – like hundreds of years ago\, when the jester Thomas Killigrew commissioned outfits with pockets too small so that the newly appointed King Charles II couldn’t take bribes\, or like the jester Will Sommers wound up Henry VIII by calling him “Uncle” or “Harry” (one of those had to be there jokes?)\, in this vein\, this night will be one of royal hilarity* \n✔ Raised thousands of pounds for comedians paid in-line with our equal pay structure \nThis night brings together the fantastic line-up of:\nLaura McMahon\nHenry Palmer\nJen Ives\nElenia Parkes\nKev Mud\nBrendan Common\n& Paul Hilliard as MC! \nThis night not only platforms the original\, the didactic\, the revolutionary\, but ensures each act is rightfully paid for their craft. \nDoors & bar open at 7.00pm\, show starts promptly at 7.30pm.
