SUMMARY:The Improv Spotlight: Anniversary Special!
DESCRIPTION:IT’S OUR SECOND ANNIVERSARY! We’ll be putting on a special show and keeping the bar open late for everyone to celebrate! Come party with us!\nJoin us for a night of spontaneous laughter at The Improv Spotlight. Immerse yourself in the world of unscripted comedy as two talented groups from our vibrant community take centre stage. These groups will weave unique stories\, characters\, and humour on the spot for your entertainment. The Spotlight highlights the spontaneous comedy of improvised theatre and proudly showcases the diverse skills of local troupes and artists within our community. \nDoors at 7pm. Show starts at 7.30pm.\nTickets are Pay What You Can with a minimum of £8. \nThis month under the Spotlight we have a triple bill of shorter shows to fit in as much fun improv as possible for the party\, they are: Mini Wasteland Tales\, Straight Outta Cotham and The Groundhogs. \nMini Wasteland Tales\nShelter from the nuclear winter inside the safety of our bunker and listen to tales from storytellers from across the wasteland! These tales may feature raiders\, mutants\, adventure – and of course will be entirely made up on the spot\, fuelled by your suggestions! This absurd dark comedy is inspired by shows such as Fallout and Mad Max. \nStraight Outta Cotham\nThis is a story from not too far\nabout a group of performers on their way to the stars\,\nthey’ll give you some scenes\nand bring you the beat\nwhile you sit there grinning\,\nsitting in your seat.\nThat’s right and when you feel it\,\nthen get up off your bottom\nwhile we wow you with the best raps\nStraight Outta Cotham!\nDisclaimer: may not actually be the greatest rap skills straight outta Cotham but there will be high energy games and improvised scenes breaking out into raps so you will have a lot of fun. \nThe Groundhogs\nThe Groundhogs are a coterie of improvisers who will take a single scene\, and explore every wacky way it could have played out. They have performed all over the UK and will one day fulfil their goal of performing on the moon. \nEntry requirements: 16+

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a night of spontaneous laughter at The Improv Spotlight. The Spotlight highlights the spontaneous comedy of improvised theatre and proudly showcases the diverse skills of local troupes and artists within our community. \nDoors at 7pm. Show starts at 7.30pm.\nTickets are Pay What You Can with a minimum of £8. \nThis month under the Spotlight we have Channel Hoppers and Neon Blossom. \nChannel Hoppers \nBiscuit Chair presents Channel Hoppers – an improvised comedy show\, conceived during the ‘Creating a Show’ course at the BIT\, loosely inspired by the hit TV format Gogglebox. \nThe show is driven by the audience – their suggestions for a TV show\, film\, or genre determine the content. We start by meeting the initial ‘watchers’ on the couch\, distinct characters with unique dynamics. Sitting down to watch some TV\, they select the first piece of content\, and the rest of the cast performs an improvised\, unique interpretation of it on the ‘TV screen’. \nThe watchers wield the ultimate control: they can pause\, rewind\, or fast-forward the action\, forcing instant\, often hilarious\, adjustments from the performers. \nAs the channel changes and the cast rotates\, we get a fresh mix of relationships and comedic connections on the couch\, ensuring the show remains dynamic and unpredictable. \nNeon Blossom \nLaurence and Ben offer a double-prov where the format will be decided after the audience suggestion. Increasing the anxiety and blood pressure of anyone who has booked them\, because there’s no telling what’s these lads are going to do. \nEntry requirements: 16+

SUMMARY:The Improv Spotlight: Holiday Special!
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\nJoin us for a night of spontaneous laughter at The Improv Spotlight.\nImmerse yourself in the world of unscripted comedy as two talented groups from our vibrant community take centre stage. \nThis month under the Spotlight we have a holiday special! We’ll be presenting one-off special festive versions of Bristol improv shows. Starring ‘Cosmic Puddle’ and ‘Brother’s Grin Christmas Fairytales’ \n*Cosmic Puddle* \nMaking the everyday ✨whimsical.✨ Narrative 2-prov from two of Bristol’s most improvisers. \n*Brother’s Grin Christmas Fairytales* \nIt’s Christmas eve and a parent and child cuddle up by the fireside to read a Christmas fairytale. Perhaps it’s a story of magic and ice queens\, perhaps of talking penguins and presents – the components of the story will be entirely decided by you\, the audience\, who will be invited to draw pictures for the story book before the show. With each page\, the Christmas tale will be brought to life by larger than life improvisers. \nYet not all is all as merry and bright as it seems. Will the parent and child learn the lesson they need to from the story book ready for Christmas morning? Or are they destined to stay on Santa’s naughty list forever? \nBrother’s Grin is a narrative longform improv from the Adorable Spies. \nEntry requirements: no age restrictions

SUMMARY:Mockumentary Now & Impromptwo
DESCRIPTION:TicketsStrap yourselves in for a night of deep laughs\, high emotions and knockout entertainment with this unique double header of Mockumentary Now and Impromptwo. \nWe all have our favourite mockumentary from Christopher Guest’s cannon to The Office\, Parks and Recreation and many more. Watch a new Mockumentary unfold and unravel as Bristol’s best bring some serious belly laughs to the PRSC for one night only! \nJoining them and last seen in Bristol in 2024\, we are delighted to welcome ImprompTwo. Fresh from standing ovations across Europe\, they bring a magic to the stage that will leave you wrapped in a blanket of funny wonder. \nImprompTwo is not your average improv troupe. Known for their emotionally resonant\, intimate\, and often hilarious performances\, this duo takes improvised theatre to a new level—one where vulnerability\, timing\, and chemistry drive the story just as much as wit and spontaneity. Over the past seven years\, Kathy and Joe Rinaldi have brought their unique form of improv to festivals around the world\, most recently in Oslo\, Liverpool\, Lisbon\, and Nottingham. They bring decades of experience in theatre and performance from New York to Canada\, blending a deep understanding of storytelling with a vibrant\, theatrical approach to improvisation.

It’s more than just a showcase; it’s a challenge to the industry’s gatekeeping\, and a lifeline for underrepresented comics.\nBest in Class has sold out year after year at the Edinburgh Fringe and picked up major awards along the way\, including the Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (2022 & 2024)\, a Fringe Recovery Grant\, and a BBC Comedy Grant. \n✔ Both have: raised tens of thousands of pounds for comedians paid in-line with our equal pay structure. \nPlease note: the more we make through tickets\, the more we can pay acts! But please only give as much as you can comfortably. \nThere is a bar which opens the same time as doors\, from 7pm.\nThe show starts at 7:30pm\, so please arrive comfortably before then. \nMore information about us at www.thepeoplescomedy.org
