SUMMARY:Collage Zine Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The PRSC’s very own tame collage artist object… will help you create a zine (DIY magazine) using collage\, mixed media\, and just one sheet of paper! This technique allows for the design and creation of a zine which can be easily reproduced at any copy shop\, in colour or black & white. \nWe will provide a big box of collage materials\, and everything else you will need\, but if you’ve got some source material you’d like to use\, (or anything else – a typewriter to add text\, paint pens\, some fly-posters you pull off the wall on your way here) then bring them along! \nMaking a zine or pages is pay-what-you-can – we recommend £4 but no-one will be turned away through lack of funds. \n** This is a drop-in sorta thing – no need to arrive bang on time\, or stay all day ** \n\nPeople's Art Fair: Friday 24 April - Sunday 3 May 2026\nThe People's Art Fair encompasses a group exhibition\, performances\, creative workshops & activities. SUMMARY:People Just Do Something - live podcast
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\nTickets are available on Headfirst.  \n\nDescription\nWe’re excited to be cohosting this live episode of the Bristol Cable’s podcast People Just Do Something! \nEach episode of People Just Do Something attempts to untangle what it really means to effect change in Bristol\, broken Britain\, and beyond. For this live show they’ll be joined by the team from Life of the Party\, the podcast taking listeners inside the debates\, personalities and politics shaping the emerging left in the UK. \nTogether we’ll dig into the questions shaping the moment: What does the future of the British left actually look like? Can new political formations succeed where others have struggled? And what role do activists\, organisers and local movements play in shaping what comes next? \n\nWhat to expect\nAn entertaining discussion from the People Just Do Something podcast\, followed by audience Q&A. \n\nAbout Bristol Transformed\nBristol Transformed is a grassroots\, volunteer-run\, socialist education group. Bringing together activists\, trade unionists\, and everyone who wants to learn\, we’re creating the space to discuss the most important issues facing us\, equipping us with the skills and knowledge to transform Bristol and the world. \nWe run an annual festival of politics\, arts and culture in May\, and weekly events throughout the rest of the year. See all our events here. \nBristol Transformed is run by dozens of local people. Without new people coming in every year\, we wouldn’t be able to maintain the same standard of political education events that you enjoy. If you’d be interested in joining us\, sign up as a BT volunteer today and we’ll be in touch! \n\nAbout People Just Do Something\nFrom The Bristol Cable: “People Just Do Something” is a relaxing and possibly enraging podcast about people on the front line of political movements. Join Isaac Kneebone-Hopkins\, Priyanka Raval and a special guest as they attempt to untangle the means of effecting change in Bristol\, broken Britain and beyond. \nListen to past episodes or support independent local news by becoming a member.

SUMMARY:The Left\, the Right and the Hegemony
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\nTickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested minimum donation of £3.00 in order to help cover venue costs. There are some limited free tickets as well for people who will struggle to contribute this. \n\nDescription\nJoin us to learn about the concept of “hegemony” – how one group can come to dominate society\, with their ideas becoming the “common sense” that everyone accepts. \nWe’ll ask: Is the rise of the far right a new normal? How do they manage to gain so much support\, including support from the working class? Is it the failure of the Left? Can the Left hegemonize protest attitudes? Do we even need to think about hegemony at all? \n\nWhat to expect\nAfter an introductory talk\, we will discuss the topic in small groups\, with some time to feed back to the whole room. Most of our events have somewhere between 10-30 attendees. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved\, regardless of prior knowledge or whether you have attended before.

SUMMARY:Bertram: That Geezabird presents... The CHAOS EP launch/their 33rd birthday
DESCRIPTION:[ticketbutton link=”https://hdfst.uk/e150038″ \nIt’s a chaotic time to be alive. War and genocide\, constant overwhelming social change\, the collapse of all we once took for granted. What hope is there to be found in such bleak instability?\nWell if there’s one thing Bertram: That Geezabird is good at\, it’s finding hope. They’ve been hard at work on a new EP\, ‘CHAOS’ which they believe can offer a way into hope in the midst of all this horror\, posing that perhaps the potential for unparalleled possibility is found in defiantly facing the destruction of old ways of being. \n(Also it’s their birthday so if you really love them\, then you have to come or you’ll bear the risk of social awkwardness) \n18:30 Doors \n19:15 Lydia Daisy \n20:00 RED \n21:00 Bertram: That Geezabird \n—————- \nLydia Daisy – \nIt’s not stand up\, it’s not music\, it’s not poetry\, it’s not a one-woman show\, but it’s definitely not not any of them. She plays the microphone really well. Mostly she shows up and she fucks about. She’s not fucking about. \nRED – \nFusing glossy pop\, underground club energy and personal storytelling\, this proud black\, trans\, multi-disciplinary artist is carving out a space that’s entirely her own – unapologetically queer\, fiercely honest\, and designed to move both hearts and bodies. \nBertram: That Geezabird – \nConfusing people all the way from London to Bristol for several years\, they’ve been on a mission to distil spiritual\, political and existential concepts into accessible and entertaining beats that move a crowd. A beacon of joy and positivity\, they’re able to tackle big ideas with a silly sense of fun that speaks across demographics to the child playing dress-up at the heart of us all.
