Bring an instrument\, a poem or a story and share your artwork and your voice. \nAt the start of 2024 we hosted a visit by reparations activists from Ghana to establish links between our communities\, there was much learning\, laughter and joy. We want to celebrate these connections and support a visit to Niger and Burkina Faso in March to continue developing these relationships. SUMMARY:Global Citizenship Education Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Register for your free ticket\nWe are very excited to welcome a delegation of reparations activist from Global Citizenship Education for Planet Repairs Action (GCEPRA) based in Ghana on a visit to Bristol. We will be discussing practical links of solidarity between community projects across the UK and in indigenous communities of resistance in West Afrika. \nTogether we will ground in the progressive histories of this city in order to build the internationalist relationships we need as both the UK and Ghana are having election years in 2024. We will be facing different challenges but we are all living under outdated political systems which have opposed struggles for freedom both locally and globally and which are unable to respond to the current social and environmental problems. \nWith the upswell of positive action for self-determination and Planet Repairs\, led by grassroots communities across the world\, this system of domination and violence is on the back foot\, and so we need to get organised and work on tackling the needs of our communities glocally. \nDoors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
