SUMMARY:Gaza Solidarity Mural Painting & Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Donate OnlineCome on down to People’s Republic of Stokes Croft on Saturday 31st of May for a solidarity mural making day. Palestinian artist Jamila from Nablus\, will be painting a mural in response to a design of an artist in Gaza\, who will be painting a mural on the same day. This project is taking place in cities across the UK. \nWe invite everyone to show solidarity by coming down to the mural painting where we will also have cake and art for sale\, all raising money for Palestinian families in Gaza. There will also be opportunities to contribute a fingerprint to the mural later in the day. \nPlease note\, this event takes place outside PRSC on Jamaica St\, by our big roller shutter.

SUMMARY:Street Art Workshop: Stokes Croft Calling
DESCRIPTION:TicketsDiscover Bristol’s creative heart at Stokes Croft Calling—a FREE all-day celebration where art\, performance\, and history collide. The streets will come to life with fresh performances and interactive activities inspired by the area’s rich history. Explore hidden gems in local businesses and contribute your own creative spark to the story of the neighbourhood. With free tickets available for timed entry\, you can create a day that suits you. \nBe part of the ever-changing visual landscape of The Croft\, and claim your own corner in the legacy of local street art. Kingpins of the local community PRSC will use their extensive knowledge\, and centrality to the art of the area\, to run a street-art workshop where you can contribute to a brand-new work of art on their outside mural wall. Either watch others creating\, or have a go yourself. \nThe mural workshop will invite you to engage with the history and look of Stokes Croft through a bank of stencils\, created over more than a decade in various projects in and around the Croft. Choose which stencil to apply to an abstracted streetscape and make your mark as the piece takes shape. As the streetscape develops\, for those taking part later in the day\, the choices will change from ‘how do we contribute to the collaborative landscape?’ to ‘how do we add colour and imagery to the landscape?’. \nYou’ll be invited to reflect on the choices that graffiti and street-artists have to make every time they work their craft: What’s on the wall already? Can it be incorporated or do I need to start afresh? How do I add and layer meaning? \nBookings necessary to take part. Anyone is welcome to watch the work as it grows over the course of the day! \nAll PPE and materials will be provided. \nThis is a family friendly activity and children are welcome. Participating children must be accompanied by a participating adult who will be responsible for their child at all times. Please book a ticket for each person in attendance – this includes children and babies in pushchairs. \nIn the event of bad weather\, the activity will be adjusted so that it can take place indoors. This may incur a change to the creative content of the work\, but the activity will go ahead whatever the weather. \nThis event is wheelchair accessible. Other workshop participants will be standing unless otherwise arranged. We aim to ensure that this event is accessible to all\, but in order to do this we ask individuals to please contact us in advance to discuss specific access needs\, so we can work with you to try and meet these (email hidden; JavaScript is required). \nEntry requirements: no age restrictions

The world’s biggest election year in history. Our institutions are crumbling\, our representatives are failing us. We need a decolonisation of politics more than ever. Let us build solidarity through art\, through music\, through joy. \nBring your community\, creativity\, banners\, flags and stories of resistance. \nAgenda:\n3-5pm Collaborative painting\n5-6pm Workshop and mural unveiling\n6-7pm Theatre\, poetry\, spoken word.\n7-9pm Open music jam \nAbout PRALER: The Planet Repairs Action Learning Educational Revolution (PRALER) is a process for building relationships of solidarity between communities and social movements across the world so that together we can reimagine and rebuild our education systems from the local to the global level. \nWebsite: www.praler.net\nInstagram: @praler_news \nFor any questions about the event please email: email hidden; JavaScript is required

SUMMARY:PRSC Outdoor Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The PRSC Outdoor Exhibition is designed to provide an outlet for aspiring and established artists to showcase and sell their work\, and to offer to the public the opportunity to purchase artworks at an affordable price. Displayed artworks can be purchased at the Stokes Croft China shop. \nAs well as providing a canvas for artists to exhibit their work and experiment with weatherproof techniques\, the outdoor gallery aims to give local communities and passers-by a sense of ownership of the public space\, challenging established ideas of private property and commercial enterprise. Hanging the work outside will mean it is vulnerable to vandalism and theft\, therefore trust and respect are central elements of this exhibition.
