We recommend you do a lateral flow test prior to attending the event, to help us keep safe, but it’s your personal responsibility as with any other events these days.

– 70% bachata music, 30% salsa/kizomba/zouk

 ABOUT Guest teacher: :
Jose Garcia “ShowTime “is a Dominican bachata salsa and merengue instructor and the founder of Latin Fever Night & Con Sabor a Bachata. Jose was born in Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, north of Santo Domingo – capital of the Dominican Republic. Jose is also a qualified entertainment supervisor having worked for the prestigious Occidental chain of hotels and resorts in Grand Flamenco (including roles as the conductor and MC for the Occidental Grand Flamenco Fun Club in Puerto Plata). Although Jose hails from the Dominican Republic he now resides in the UK and has focused on teaching Dominican-style dance – Bachata Domincana. He has an infectious passion and love for Bachata, and says he wants to teach us all some new moves as he promotes the Bachata-style of dancing alongside spreading his love of the music and culture from his homeland.

 WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
The classes aim to teach you the beauty of Sensual & Dominican Bachata (Latin Dances) to help you enjoy your social dancing.

You will learn:
– basic steps and technique of Sensual & Dominican Bachata
– fun and easy to lead moves and routines
– musicality – how to interact with the music
– men’s and ladies’ styling
– how to connect with your partner and really enjoy your dancing.

No partner or previous dancing experience required. Just come along and have some fun!

 WHAT IS IT SENSUAL BACHATA?
Sensual bachata was created in Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain, by Korke Escalona and Judith Cordero. Korke learned the basics of bachata in 1998; then he started developing his own dance style by understanding how the leader (traditionally a man) could lead the body of the follower (traditionally a woman) to interpret the music. Sensual bachata is an independent dance form with strict lead and follow principles. The dance is an interpretation of the music with mostly circular movements and body waves. When the music has stronger beats, however, the dance also uses isolations and dips.
