PRSC’s media studios on Hillgrove St are officially open to the public. PRSC has studio space and hot desks for hire (or in exchange for voluntary work) for filmmakers, artists and media creators who want to make committed and relevant media, but might not otherwise have the equipment or space. Please share this, and our video about the space to let the Bristol community know about the availability of this much-needed community resource.
Working at home can be peaceful or convenient, but it can also be alienating, stifling and isolating. We understand that as the cost of equipment and workspace rises as wages and accessibility to work falls, it is increasingly harder for people to make creative work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Once settled in, we will also be offering training and workshops, and we encourage those who would like to provide training and workshops to use the facilities for this.
As well as hiring out the studios in the short term, our ambitions are to work as a community multi-media hub providing, among other things, creative mentoring, ethical/eco-web hosting, post-production facilities and a radio station.
The media suite currently consists of:
- 1 x editing suite (with full Adobe Creative Suite)
- 1 x recording/radio studio
- 4 x hot desk space
- A range of equipment (inventory list on request)
- A supportive community of artists and activists with a range of experience and specialist skills
- Exhibition/screening/event space (The Space)
