We are very excited to present to you K I T A – (translated from Bahasa Indonesian: inclusive pronoun ‘our’, ‘our festival’) A new Bristol based festival that celebrates artists of colour. Our festival will explore the theme of identity with a focus on mixed-race, asian and underrepresented ethnic minorities.

We are carefully curating a diverse line up of visual artists, performers, DJs and vendors that we now invite you to come and be a part of. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we announce our artists.

KITA’s AIMS:
1. To form a community of people in Bristol who have shared experiences; who can support each other both creatively and in a more general sense.
2. To create, contribute, and sustain conversations in Bristol around concepts such as identity and connection/disconnection for POC communities, focusing on – but not limited to – the experience of mixed race people.
3. To begin a collective/network that will hold more events in the future, thereby providing a platform and opportunity for mixed race/POC creatives in Bristol to showcase their work and heritage without having to compromise to white dominant spaces.
4. To provide an educational experience to those who want it e.g. people from the white majority who want to educate themselves, interracial families who are raising children in Bristol etc.

Tickets – We have priced the tickets at £5, however if you wish to donate more then we would greatly appreciate it. KITA is a non profit collective and all proceeds go towards putting on the event. Any extra funds that we have left over will go towards keeping the KITA community going.
