People Just Do Something – live with the Cuba Solidarity Campaign

Tue 26 May, 2026 @ 19:00 - 21:30
£3 – £10

Tickets are available on Headfirst.

Description

We’re excited to be cohosting this live episode of the Bristol Cable’s podcast People Just Do Something!

For the May live show we’ll be joined by Rob Miller, director of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign, a UK-based organisation working to challenge the ongoing US blockade of Cuba and to support the Cuban people’s right to self-determination.

Together, we’ll explore questions at the intersection of international solidarity and grassroots politics:

  • What does meaningful international solidarity look like today?
  • How does the blockade impact everyday life in Cuba and why does it persist?
  • What inspiration can we take from the Cuban Revolution?
  • What role can activists, trade unions, and political movements in the UK play in global struggles?

Expect thoughtful conversation, political insight, and the chance to put your own questions to the guest.

Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7pm sharp

About Bristol Transformed

Bristol Transformed is a grassroots, volunteer-run, socialist education group. Bringing together activists, trade unionists, and everyone who wants to learn, we’re creating the space to discuss the most important issues facing us, equipping us with the skills and knowledge to transform Bristol and the world. We run an annual festival of politics, arts and culture in May, and weekly events throughout the rest of the year. See all our events here. Bristol Transformed is run by dozens of local people. Without new people coming in every year, we wouldn’t be able to maintain the same standard of political education events that you enjoy. If you’d be interested in joining us, sign up as a BT volunteer today and we’ll be in touch!

About People Just Do Something

Join Isaac Kneebone-Hopkins, Priyanka Raval and a special guest as they attempt to untangle the means of effecting change in Bristol, broken Britain and beyond.
