The People’s Comedy will be back at PRSC in June.
The People’s Comedy hits The Bearpit this Friday. A night that puts paying acts at the centre of its ethos, comedians including BBC’s Heydon Prowse (The Revolution Will Be Televised, Ministry of Justice) and Bristolian favourites descend on the pit for a charitable night of laughter.
Starting at the usual 7pm but no longer ticketed, donations are welcome which (after acts are paid) goes directly to some of Bristol’s most vulnerable: the homeless that reside in Bristol’s core.
Expect wildness, laughter and ultimately the hybridisation of recreation and activism. Compere’d by Mr. Audience interaction Greg Winfield, also there will be the quick-ed-ly talented Firuz Ozark, home counties migrant Graeme Coulam, Devon blessing Joe Riley and a few others.
There will be an area to sit.
Let’s make the city rock this Friday: a funny Woodstock.
About the People’s Comedy
On the first Friday of every month, the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft present a revolutionary event. The UK’s only sociopolitical comedy night, where Bristol’s satirists deconstruct the power paradigm to comedic effect, and the acts ACTUALLY get paid.
A fantastic night of political, social and cultural comedy featuring some of the most exciting grassroots comedians of Bristol and beyond.
Come and join the revolution.
