So in the true spirit of the People’s Art Fair we are delighted to welcome the Immigrant Swing Family to our beautiful venue this December for a festive edition of the People’s Jam Session, a music jam session open to all.
Come along, bring voices and instruments, have a boogie and show us your skills!
Pay-what-you-can – there is a recommended price of £4 on the door at this event, but no-one will be turned away through lack of funds. Book in advance or pay on the door. All ticket money goes to the Immigrant Swing Family.
Immigrant Swing offers its own blend of Bristol Riot Swing, a high energy, foot stomping, acoustic music merging sounds from around the globe, with influences ranging from Gypsy Jazz & Blues to Mediterranean Folk & Hip Hop. A Swinging rhythm section – driven by the Balkanic sounds of the Tuba, Manouche Guitar rhythms and Drums- provides the foundations for MCspokeMao to deliver his own style of beat-poetry, with Violin ripping through the melodic lines. Be prepared for anything and make sure to bring along your dancing shoes!
People's Art Fair: Friday 2 December - Sunday 11 December 2022
The People's Art Fair encompasses a group exhibition, performances, creative workshops & activities, and a makers market! Open to artists, makers, photographers, painters, sculptors and creatives of all shapes and flavours, the People's Art Fair acts as a celebration of culture and expressive art.
Most of the artworks are available to buy, along with prints, cards, badges, stickers and other smaller bits, and the bar will be open for soft drinks, hot drinks and locally sourced beer, cider & wine.
