We welcome you to the St James Fair.

For 500 years there was a fair, St James Fair, that plagued our city of Bristol with wealth and culture. It was a place for trading, entertainments, menageries, performers, thieves, pirates and ‘all kinds of sex for sale’. The moralists and council of the age wanted to close the fair down, but due to the profound income generated by the 14 day fair their case was never carried.
Until this year, 1836 and this Lamentable Tragedy.
The Wonder Club invite you to an extraordinary site specific performance. We make exciting interactive promenade theatre, bringing to life installation art from some of Bristol’s leading artists we merge theatre, music and performance art tied together by a narrative that allows you, the audience to find, play with and gossip about.
