MAKE A SALEABLE ART WORK AND BECOME A PART OF THE P.R.S.C.’s PAINT EXPERIMENT

Expanding on the P.R.S.C.’S already established outdoor gallery concept – which uses street art to re-invigorate the area  – Paint Experiment will facilitate the creation of saleable Artworks in the public domain, requiring the participation of the community as: artists, buyers and curators.

Boards, canvas and other surfaces of various sizes will be provided and attached to the P.R.S.C’s Jamaica Street fence in Stokes Croft. Some painting materials will also be available – though contributions will be welcome – and anyone will be free to make an artwork on the 5th and 6th of December, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

then

The works will remain on the Jamaica Street wall until sold.

As gaps appear, new boards will go up for painting.

The exhibition will run until December 24th.

Paintings will be sold at prices determined by the artists, through P.R.S.C H.Q.

Refreshments will be available at P.R.S.C. H.Q. on painting days.

Artists will help run the gallery whenever possible.

Profit from any work sold will be split 50 / 50 between the artist and the P.R.S.C.

also

Hanging the work outside will mean it is vulnerable to vandalism and theft. Trust and respect are therefore central elements of PAINT EXPERIMENT. The experiment also challenges established ideas of: property, public space and commercial enterprise.
