Scaffolding has just gone up on the former Putterills building on Stokes Croft. Clarke Scaffolding of avonmouth were busy erecting scaffolding. The foreman, Matt said thatthe owners are going to put a new roof on it, and refurbish the front. No planning premission necessary as the owners is just repairing the building as is. It looks as if one of the major gap sites will be brought back to life pretty soon… As regards the Street Art, rthe regularly changing hoardings will be sorely missed. The case for painting the Bear Pit becomes stronger…

Don’t paint the Bear Pit! Yes to more flowers and grasses. The painting that is there really goes against the whole ethic of an open green space for everyone.
I agree, although I do like the Bees,
more flowers, grass, trees etc…please
I don’t think the bearpit should be painted (with graffiti). More flowers etc great, but graffiti isn’t for everyone and in a tunnelled area can give a menacing atmosphere.
I hope they’re not going to remove the Kitchen and Bathroom Centre sign. It’s possibly my favourite piece of design on the street.
Are they keeping the Kitchen and Bathroom Centre sign above the first floor? It’s the best piece of design on the street.
