Bristol City Council have released the three selected designs for the City Road/Stokes Croft Junction. You can now vote for your preferred choice at either Niche Frames on Stokes Croft, or at the Architecture Centre, Narrow Quay. It has been a long process to get this far, so it is essential that you vote! Voting ends on 22nd February.
The three choices are listed and pictured below. All three choices have merit. there is one local option, Eudaimon who are based in Hamilton House on Stokes Croft.
Eudaimon visualisation… Eudaimon propose a vertical garden, solar panels, a bike pump station, water fountain and are working with artists based in Stokes Croft.
Dallas Pierce Quintero visualisation. The idea is to create a framework on which perfumed vegetation grows, taking the form of the building that was there before demolition in the 70’s.

Like the ground level elements of no 1, but vertical gardens are proving problematic and some have failed elsewhere. Therefore prefer no 3 where the planting grows conventionally in planters held within a structure. This structure could mimic the form of the original building as in no 2.
I agree with Jim White. Both 1 and 2 may look pretty on paper, but would be a nightmare to maintain.
