A Public Inquiry will take place on 25th February, commencing at 10am at the Council House where the developers, Opecprime Development will attempt to gain planning permission for an intensive residential development of the Carriageworks/ Westmoreland House. It is believed that all local Community groups and local government agencies are united in opposition to this proposed development. Stokes Croft is in the process of a rebirth as a Cultural Quarter, and aspires to be a beacon of sustainable development… The proposed development offers nothing in terms of Stokes Croft’s long-term aspirations.  To see more, visit BCC’s website planning application 07/05764/LA.

Recently, Opecprime Developments submitted  revised plans. These plans may be viewed here: http://prsc.org.uk/images/pdfs

PLEASE COME AND MAKE YOUR PRESENCE FELT. STOKES CROFT DESERVES A BETTER SCHEME THAN IS ON OFFER HERE.

After thirty years, the Croft deserves better than this offering.

And there is a very real possibility that a better plan can be achieved…
