On the first Friday of every month, the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft present a revolutionary event: the UK’s only sociopolitical comedy night, where Bristol’s satirists deconstruct the power paradigm to comedic effect, and the acts ACTUALLY get paid.

In a recent survey, 88% of comedians said they think it’s harder for working class people to progress in stand-up comedy in the UK. And so we bring you this special edition of The People’s Comedy, gathering together the best in working-class comics: Matt James, Emma Coyne David Jefferies, Thomas Meyhoo, Jasi + more.
