To the Stokes Croft Food Project Community,

We have made the difficult decision to close the pay-what-you-can-café operating from our much-loved venue, Jamaica Street Stores. The café closed on Friday 2nd of April.

This decision has not come lightly, however we simply do not have the funding to continue to run the café in it’s current format.

We will still be operating the Street Survival drop-in service every Tuesday 2-4pm at the PRSC, where people can access facilities, tents, sleeping bags and DOPE magazine to distribute. We will also be continuing our Sunday Soup Run, distributing tea, coffee, biscuits and soup from 2-3:30pm in St James’ Park every Sunday.

In the meantime, our amazing team of volunteers are on the hunt for chefs, kitchens and premises that will allow our café to continue. We hope to create a newer, more sustainable model that will allow us to develop the service we provide and continue our collaboration with the vibrant communities of Bristol.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in helping this project to thrive. To our funders, our volunteers, our partners and our customers, we could not have come this far without you. We are hugely grateful to everyone who has helped us provide this essential service so far, and we look forward to what we can create together in the future. Please don’t hesitate to give us a shout if you think you might be able to help!
