The mystery of Stokes Croft’s disappearing flowers has been solved, thanks to “Typowriter” who spotted the sculptures at BCC’s Dovercourt Road depot. Jon Rogers, our local Councillor, authorised their return. Highways and Streetscene had no problem with the sculptures on the central reservation at the bottom of Stokes Croft, but Peter Clarke, BCC Parks Manager for the area, told us that Denise James, project manager for “Clean and Green”, had ordered their removal, having ordered new shrubs for the area. The floral sculptures will be refurbished, having been damaged slightly on their journey, and new improved versions will be returned to the central reservation as soon as possible.
